These are the things I remind myself of when I get lost, distracted, or overwhelmed.
They’re the principles that guide me in life, and how I show up every day.
1. Build over talk
I’ve been an overthinker all my life. Thinking didn’t move my life forward, shipping did. Whenever I feel stuck, I build something small and let reality answer the questions.
2. Keep it small, fast, and pragmatic
Over time I realized that complexity is usually fear wearing a fancy outfit. I prefer decisions that keep me moving, even if they aren’t glamorous.
3. Independence above everything
I’ve tried the alternative. Nothing feels better than waking up knowing I control my day, my energy, and what I build. That freedom is non‑negotiable.
4. Consistency compounds
Whenever I break consistency, everything slows down. When I return to it, everything works again. It’s my unfair advantage, if I manage to keep it.
5. Validate with reality
I don’t trust ideas that only live in my head. I talk to people, watch what they do, and accept when I’m wrong (which happens more often than I admit).
6. Focus, but stay open
I try to stay focused, but I also leave the door open for those rare ideas that hit me in the stomach and won’t let go.
7. Help people win
Helping someone grow or unlock something they didn’t think possible gives me more energy than any metric. If people win, I win.
8. No fluff, no vanity
I’ve wasted too much time making things look smart instead of making them useful. If it doesn’t serve a real need, it goes.
9. Radical honesty in writing
Writing is how I think, so I write the way I talk. Life’s too short for (corporate) bullshit language.
10. Quality over perfection
I don’t chase perfection anymore. I’m willing to ship imperfect things (but never sloppy ones).
11. Own the entire journey
I like owning the whole process because there’s no one to blame or wait for. From idea → design → code → marketing → sales → partnerships.
12. Earn your expertise
I only share what I’ve lived. If I haven’t tested it on my skin, I don’t claim to know it. It should be the norm, but…
13. Community matters
The moments I’ve grown the most came from uncomfortable conversations. Listening is still our best tool as human beings.
14. Play the long game
Fast wins are fun, but I try to optimize for who I’ll be in 5 years, not 5 minutes. Meaningful wins will change my life.
